India's Cybersecurity Revolution: Maharashtra's Groundbreaking Command Center
L&T Technology Services Limited, a global leader in engineering and digital services, teamed up with the Maharashtra State Cyber Department to launch India’s first integrated state-level Cyber Command and Control Center.
This centre aims to create a safer digital environment by protecting citizens, businesses, and critical infrastructure from cybercrimes using cutting-edge technology and expertise.
The facility, located in Mahape, was inaugurated by Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. It will play a key role in speeding up cybercrime investigations, improving conviction rates, training police officers, and raising public awareness about cyber threats.
L&T Technology Services, working with KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP, has built this centre for the Maharashtra Cyber Department. The project includes a Cyber Crime Command & Control Center, a Technology-Assisted Investigation Center with advanced forensic tools, an AI-driven CERT-Maharashtra for threat intelligence, a Security Operations Center, and a Cyber Center of Excellence to enhance police training and public awareness.
The Cyber Command and Control Center (CCC) will act as a one-stop solution for handling all cybercrime complaints through multiple channels, such as the helpline 14407 (available from October 15), a web portal, and a mobile app. The Nodal Cyber Police Station and 50 district cyber police stations will investigate cases with the support of Technology-Assisted Investigation (TAI) for both citizen and business complaints. CERT-MH (Maharashtra Computer Emergency Response Team) will handle cyber incidents related to critical infrastructure and national security, working with other agencies. It will also provide industries with proactive threat intelligence using AI technologies.
